National Philanthropy Day: Arts & Culture Sector Spotlight

Arts & Culture are a vital force in our community, contributing to the livelihood of our region and making our city a vibrant and enjoyable place to live.

As Kate Chisholm, Senior Vice President, Legal and External Relations at Capital Power, explains: “The vision and artistic creativity of Edmonton’s people and organizations shape its culture, promote tourism and economic development in the region and make Edmonton a fun place to live so we need to recognize and celebrate these initiatives”.

And what better way to recognize these initiatives than with a National Philanthropy Day award?

We reached out to Aroon Sequeira of Sequeira Partners, and asked him what it meant to him to receive an Arts & Culture award at National Philanthropy Day last year.

“It was a great honor to receive the award at the 2014 National Philanthropy Luncheon. Equally important was seeing all the other organizations that I was exposed to at the luncheon. It made me realize how important it is to give back to the community and to be involved with fine organizations such as the Citadel Theatre”
